The Mechanics Cap in Printed Linen Check Navy is a hard-wearing baseball cap based on the headwear worn by mechanics and flight crew in the United States Air Force during WW2. Although these caps were intended as a functional means to keep the sun out of mechanics’ eyes whilst preparing aircraft for take-off, their use quickly extended to other parts of the Air Force due to their practical nature.
