This knit is created from sheep wool from the Shetland Islands, which are located north of Scotland. Because British wool develops in the harsh natural climate of winter, its hair is elastic and robust. It is distinguished by its shine. Shetland wool is cultivated in a breeding environment where seaweed is consumed as a supplemental meal, which accounts for its softness and sheen among British wool.
