An early Stetson advertising image, a painting of a cowboy dipping his hat into a stream to provide water for his horse symbolized the Cowboy hat as an essential part of a stockman’s gear and was later featured inside every western style hat.
The Tweed Flap caps were introduced later in the late 1940s and early 1950s. The popularity was so great that it was once again part of every mans wardrobe. You may remember Robert Di Nero playing the early life of the Don Carliano from the God Father, this was the hat he wore. Also Robert Redford was commonly seen wearing Stetson flap caps togeather with his grenson dylan brogues in his ealier days on the big screen
